Traditional Scouting uses outdoor recreation to promote strong values, build self-confidence, and promote healthy, active living, developing the next generation of leaders. We have programs for young people ages 5 and up:
- Age 5-7: Otter Raft Your child will learn about cooperation and getting along with others through non-competitive games, music, campfires, crafts, and outdoor activities including camping.
- Age 8-10: Pack In this program based on The Wolf Cub’s Handbook, your child will be a member of the Pack and participate in outdoor activities, archery, camping, crafts, games, stories, campfires, earning badges, and other activities which will build their confidence and give them opportunities for adventure.
- Age 11-14: Troop Your child will build confidence and skills through outdoor adventures including camping, bike trips, hiking, archery, first aid, cooking, and canoeing. As part of a small group, your child will practise leadership and teamwork skills, and how to take more responsibility for themselves. The program will include a March Break trip to Bermuda, a week-long summer camp, and regular weekend activities, including six camps.
- Age 15+: Crew Members of the crew organize their own adventurous outdoor activities under the guidance of adult Advisers, developing leadership and teamwork skills.
27th Cambridge Scouting Group is a program of Fiddlesticks Community Centre in cooperation with the BPSA.
Join our team and be part of Scouting as you develop your own skills in the great outdoors. As a program leader, you will be a positive role model for young people. In a support role, you will assist with fundraising, event coordination, publicity, etc. Police record check and screening required.
